Our Story
QualitySmith Home Division
A personal experience becomes a useful service.
The idea for the QualitySmith Home division began when Rob Schmidt's sister put a large down payment on a new roof. The contractor disappeared with the money and never returned, and Rob's sister lost thousands of dollars. Rob vowed to do something about it, and QualitySmith was born.
Contractors, meet consumers.
QualitySmith exists to set appointments for homeowners with prescreened, reputable contractors for their projects. But we're also here to help good home improvement contractors meet homeowners. Because as a contractor, it can be hard to convince customers that you're trustworthy and reliable when all they've heard are horror stories.
Consumers, meet contractors.
So our mission is to bring customers and contractors together, showing customers that our partner contractors are good to work with, and demonstrating to contractors that customers who choose QualitySmith are serious about home improvement and looking for the best value, not just the lowest price.
QualitySmith Auto Division
Glass.net is the first website to offer 3 auto glass quotes in one place.
89Glass was founded in 2002, and was the very first website to provide online auto glass pricing, with partner auto glass shops across the nation performing the installation service and support. In 2006, QualitySmith created Glass.net, with an even more innovative idea—give auto owners the ability to shop around for auto glass pricing and service in one place. Working with partner auto glass installers nationwide, Glass.net gives customers pricing and profiles for 3 local shops in their area, allowing them to choose the price and service level that's right for them.
Glass.net provides profitable jobs for auto glass shops.
Like many industries, the auto glass industry is a fiercely competitive one, with many factors driving down price and quality. Glass.net is a powerful force at work to reverse that trend. Glass.net partner auto glass shops have the opportunity to set pricing that allows them to make a reasonable profit, and thus provide safer, higher quality windshield installations. Glass.net understands that auto glass is not a commodity, but a safety feature, as a windshield provides 40 - 70% of the strength of the vehicle in the event of a rollover or other accident. Glass.net is another QualitySmith product that gives both consumers and service providers what they need.
